VISUAL DESIGN

BRAND IDENTITY

01

Brief

The goal was to create branding elements and various visual assets for the social media of three online publications under the MAGOG group: Contrasti, Pangea, Dissipatio and Blast. Dissipatio focuses on investigative journalism, Contrasti n sports news, Pangea on politics, and Blast on internet phenomena and contemporary culture.

02

Client

The client was MAGOG, the editorial group that owns the three online magazines Contrasti, Pangea, and Blast.

03

Team

I handled the entire visual aspect.

MAGOG MAGAZINES

Challenge

The challenge was creating distinct visual languages, since the magazines are read by very different audiences—ranging in age, background, and interests—requiring each style to resonate with its specific readership.

MAGOG MAGAZINES

The aim of the project

The goal was to create an aesthetic that reflected each magazine’s focus. For Dissipatio, I used a Morse code pattern, highlighting its coverage of geopolitics, politics, and think tanks. For Contrasti, I designed patterns inspired by different sports. For Pangea, which covers politics, I went with a more elegant and minimalist approach. And for Blast, I chose a highly contemporary style, closer to internet meme culture.

MAGOG MAGAZINES

Approach and solution

Creating a unique visual language for each magazine helped give them a distinct identity.

MAGOG MAGAZINES

Final outcome

The final output was a highly varied aesthetic for the four magazines, tailored to the type of reader each targets. I created a range of animated and static assets for both the websites and social media (Instagram and Facebook).
