Brief

The goal of the project, sponsored by Luxottica, was to improve the mobile homepage of the Costa del Mar website, a retailer of fishing and watersports eyewear, based on qualitative UX research and insights gathered through UserTesting.com.

The client in this case was Costa del Mar, part of the Luxottica group.

I had the opportunity to present this project during my master's degree, along with two other collegues.

Challenge

The main challenge was overcoming any type of bias and staying as objective as possible, even when the insights from UserTesting produced conflicting results.

The aim of the project

The goal of the project was to identify the pain points in using the Costa del Mar mobile homepage. The first step I took was performing a heuristic evaluation, even before gathering data through UserTesting, to better prepare my questions.

Approach and solution

The approach was to redesign the homepage entirely based on the UX data collected, improving its usability.

Final outcome

The final result was a “simple” redesign, yet quite impactful since it was entirely based on qualitative UX research.
